Globalization is a process of international integration brought about by the exchange of world views, products, concepts, and other cultural elements. Since the 1980s, globalization has become pervasive, reflecting advances in telecommunications and technology that have made it easier for countries to establish economic connectivity. Globalization can be thought of as the result of the opening up of the global economy and the consequent increase in trade between countries.
