Edward Entered into a Contract with Uranus Pte. Ltd. (“Uranus”) whereby Edward would provide consultancy services to Uranus: Diploma in Legal Studies Assignment, KU, Singapore

Edward entered into a contract with Uranus Pte. Ltd. (“Uranus”) whereby Edward would provide consultancy services to Uranus at an agreed fee. However, despite the consultancy services being rendered by Edward, Uranus has refused to make payment saying that the consultancy services had not been properly rendered. The fees amounted to S$90,000.

Edward would like to claim the sum of S$90,000 and engages your law firm to act for him. Edward also has a legal dispute with John. Pursuant to a contract, John owes Edward a contractual debt of S$400 for services provided by Edward and John refuses to make payment.

1. Advise Edward on the alternative methods of resolving his disputes with Uranus and John in order to avoid litigation in court.

2. Assuming that after receiving your advice, Edward decides to bring his dispute with Uranus to a relevant court in Singapore to be litigated. Advice Edward on which court he can bring his legal action, and the procedures and process involved in the legal action.
