The coursework assessment is an individually graded assignment that constitutes 100% of your final grade.
There are two (2) parts to this individual coursework assessment:

• Written Assignment (70%)
• Oral Assessment (30%)

Part 1: Written Assignment

You have recently started a new job as a career coach in a consultancy company. As part of your probationary tasks before being confirmed as a full-time staff member, your supervisor has assigned you a new client, Richard. Among the provided details is a psychometric assessment that Richard completed: the HEXACO Personality Inventory-Revised (HEXACO-PI-R), a 100-item personality inventory.

As the assigned career coach, refer to “Annex A: Client Richard’s HEXACO Results – DO NOT CIRCULATE,” which contains extracted results from the assessment report.

Part A

Based on Richard’s HEXACO-PI-R results, complete a write-up on his personality profile by addressing the following:

1. Describe the theory that the tool is based on and the approach adopted in its construction.
2. Explain Richard’s scores based on the factor scales. If normed scores are used, explain them in appropriate terms.

Part B

4. State the qualification required to use the tool in a career counselling and coaching setting.
5. Discuss how a personality inventory like the HEXACO-PI-R can be applied in career counselling and coaching.

Part C

Suggest one (1) alternative psychometric assessment that can be used in career counselling and coaching. Include:

1. An explanation of its usefulness.
2. At least two (2) pieces of evidence supporting its validity.
